When should I report a safeguarding concern?
When you see or hear something that concerns you and you think that an adult with the appearance of needs for care and support is at risk of harm and abuse, neglect, or self-neglect, or is experiencing abuse, neglect, or self-neglect.
The eligibility criteria that the local council sets for services and support are not relevant in relation to safeguarding. Safeguarding enquiries should be made on the understanding of the risk of neglect or abuse, irrespective of whether the individual would meet the criteria for the provision of services.
