What should I do if I raise a safeguarding concern and the manager decides not to do anything?
In many organisations, but not all, the manager is responsible for making an initial decision about reporting a concern with Social Care Direct based on a risk assessment.
Acting within your organisation's procedures, if you strongly disagree with the decision or risk assessment, you can
- speak to a more senior manager
- make a direct referral via Social Care Direct on 03000 26 79 79
- use your whistle blowing procedure.
